Hephaistos

Hephaistos On this black figure vase, the blacksmith god, Hephaistos appears crouching before his forge, holding tongs in his right hand.
Hephaistos This red figure pelike, cc 425 B.C., shows a drunken Hephaistos leaning on a satyr as he follows Dionysos back to Olympos (ask in class about this story!). Hephaistos again holds tongs (in his right hand) as well as a hammer in his left hand.
Hephaistos Hephaistos' lame foot is particularly visible on this black figure Hydria from Caere, ca. 550-500 B.C. Notice Dionysos at the left with his drinking cup and other attributes.
