Roman Family Fun Day for Jackson Park

Sherri Madden and her students recently organized a Roman-themed festival for a transitional housing program in Charlotte. Assisted by a grant from CAMWS, Sherri and her students orchestrated a Roman feast and then the children (and parents) were able to go on a Roman adventure where they tried on togae and stolae, made lyres, created mosaics, played knucklebones and made dormice out of marshmallows and chocolate kisses.

Through the generosity of an anonymous donor, they were also able to take 20 residents to the recent Pompeii exhibit at the Discovery Place Museum in Charlotte.

(pictures hopefully coming soon!)
