Latin Placement Exams in North Carolina At its fall meeting 2007, the North Carolina Classical Association decided to address the issue of bridging the gap between high school and college-level Latin. A high percentage of students in high school programs, some with several years of study, enter college unable to place into upper division courses, or to place out of even the first year. Our approach to this problem is to communicate post-secondary requirements via a website for advanced placement.
