The Graduate Program at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro
The Department of Classical Studies at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro will be offering LAT 693: AP Latin Authors (Vergil), an online course designed for Latin teachers, in the summer of 2009 (contingent upon meeting enrollment minimums). We will meet in our virtual classroom Monday through Friday, July 6th-24th, from 1:00-3:30 PM, with three on-campus meetings. In addition to translating, we will also be examining the cultural, literary, and artistic contexts of Vergil’s works. If you need CEUs, or want to hone your Latin skills, or are looking for an opportunity to work with other Latin teachers, I encourage you to sign up!
Though our summer courses are offered as part of our M.Ed. program, you do not need to be enrolled in the program in order to take our courses. All that we require is that you have a Bachelor’s degree in any subject and a B-average in at least 12 hours of Latin beyond the introductory level. The cost for LAT 693: AP Latin Authors (Vergil) will be $427 for tuition (plus fees) for North Carolina residents living in North Carolina, and $870 (plus fees) for non-North Carolina residents living out of state. For the most current information on tuition and fees, please visit the Department of Continual Learning’s Distance Education page.
