Accelerated BS to MS Program

Qualified UNCG undergraduate students who are pursuing the B.S. degree in Computer Science may apply for admission to the Accelerated Degree Program. A cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.5 based on at least 30 hours earned at UNCG is required. Applicants must have completed at least 60 semester credits and may not apply for admission to the ADP before the first semester of the junior year. Applicants will not be required to take the GRE test. All applicants must submit the Accelerated Bachelor’s to Graduate Degree Program Petition to The Graduate School at the time of applying for admission to the graduate degree program. The Accelerated Bachelor’s to Graduate Degree Program Petition form is located within the Accelerated Degree Program tab in the Online Application.

Admitted students may apply up to 12 credit hours of the following courses toward completion of both the undergraduate and graduate degree, provided that they earn a grade of “B” (3.0) or better in each course and fulfill graduate-level requirements of the course. Note that if graduate-level requirement is not satisfied, or if the grade is below “B”, the course is only applied towards undergraduate degree.

  • CSC 452, Theory of Computation, 3 credit hours
  • CSC 454, Algorithm Analysis and Design, 3 credit hours
  • CSC 462, Principles of Operating Systems, 3 credit hours
  • CSC 477, Principles of Computer Networks, 3 credit hours

Degree Requirements

All degree requirements for the M.S. in Computer Science remain the same. A total of 30 credit hours of graduate-level courses are required for the M.S. in Computer Science. Please consult the Graduate Bulletin for the details.
