Louise Raleigh is a nationally certified and state licensed speech-language pathologist. She is an assistant professor APT and campus coordinator of the North Carolina Consortium for Distance Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders. The Consortium is the first of its kind in the state to offer a distance masters degree in speech-language pathology via inter-institutional collaboration among five universities. Participating institutions are Appalachian State University, North Carolina Central University, UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC-Greensboro, and Western Carolina University. Currently, the Consortium, which now includes East Caroina University, is offering courses for continuing education credits as well as professional development. Ms. Raleigh has provided speech-language therapy to individuals across the lifespan in settings that include public and charter schools, day care, and centers, and community agencies. She has more than 20 years of experience working with a variety of communication disorders. Ms.Raleigh teaches as part of a team of clinical educators and provides clinical supervision to graduate students in speech-language pathology. She is a member of several professional organizations and is a past president of the North Carolina Association of Supervisors in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
