The Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment Project (ASATP) began as part of a three-year grant awarded to North Carolina by SAMHSA (Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration) for adolescent substance abuse treatment coordination.
This means that we want adolescents throughout the state of North Carolina to have access to the same high-quality care no matter if they live in Boone or Burgaw, Winston Salem or Whiteville, Raleigh or Robbins.
Our goal is to strengthen the ability of North Carolina to deliver substance abuse treatment to youth and their families that is:
- Comprehensive
- Effective
- Accessible
- Affordable
- Integrated into the continuum of services for children and youth who are served by the Division
