Initiatives > Community-based Evaluation

Community-Based Evaluation serves as a vehicle for improving the practice of evaluation at the community level, including conducting evaluation studies for nonprofit and for profit organizations, assisting these organizations with strategic planning, and providing technical assistance to increase organizational capacity to provide services and programs that are theoretically driven, empirically supported and responsive to their clients. As such, the Center utilizes collaborative, participatory, and empowerment approaches in the design and facilitation of evaluation projects. Current Center research in the field of evaluation focuses on developing best practices for institutionalizing evaluation systems which incorporate systematic inquiry within the context of community level projects.
