Faith-Based Partnership Initiatives

Faith-Based Partnership Initiatives include the Communities of Faith with Communities in School project. This project is being developed to provide operational and organizational materials as well as planning support to local faith-based communities seeking to channel their volunteer and resource efforts to a particular school in need of these contributions. It is based on a successful grassroots model developed to coordinate a church’s volunteer, youth service, and charitable giving efforts to focus on “adopting” a local school considered to be economically disadvantaged. Faith partners collaborate with school staff to assess the school’s needs and then match church members’ talents, services, and contributions to meet these needs. This model will also be developed for businesses and other organizations wishing to focus their volunteer and charitable giving efforts on a particular school or early education program.
