Service Learning: Partners in Practice and Policy

Service Learning initiatives will offer UNCG students, at all levels of professional development, opportunities for learning though service and advocacy. The focus of this work is to develop a model partnership program for service learning for students in departments such as education, public health and the social sciences. The Service, Education, and Advocacy: Learning in Schools (SEALS) project will enable students with interests in parent education, early intervention, and family support with opportunities for service, advocacy, and internships in schools seeking to enhance parent involvement. Students will work as a part of the Families and Schools project team. Other areas for service learning include the Baby First project and the Communities of Faith with Communities in Schools project.
