April 28, 2009: Melinda Alston (CST Major & soon-to-be CST graduate student) and Bethany Barnes (CST & PSY major) have won a top Research Project award in the Humanities division at the 2009 UNCG Undergraduate Research Expo. They will present their work on Excellence Day, be recognized during Honors Convocation on May 6th, and will receive a cash award. Their project is entitled: "'AfterWords': Crafting Identity Through Holocaust Resettlement Narratives". This project will also be presented at the Community-Based Research presentations on May 1st and at the Chancellor's breakfast meeting on May 18th.
April 9, 2009: CST major Lindsey Fox has been awarded the Ross Civic Engagement Scholarship offered through UNCG Career Services. Congratulations!
Philadelphia, PA (March 28, 2009): CST major and Speaking Center consultant Kiya Ward has won the Top Undergraduate Student Paper Award at the National Association of Communication Centers conference in Philadelphia, PA. Her paper is entitled “The X Factor: Building Relationships Within Speaking Center Consultations.”
Chapel Hill, NC (March 27, 2009): Roy Schwartzman was unanimously elected to the Executive Committee of the University of North Carolina Faculty Assembly. The EC sets the agenda and priorities for the statewide Faculty Assembly, the faculty governance body for the 16-campus University of North Carolina system.
