Undergraduate Curriculum
Students in the BA program will develop a strong command of the theory and practice of communication through a series of core courses, along with opportunities to pursue individual interests through a wide array of elective courses.
Core courses include CST 105 Introduction to Communication; CST 200 Communication and Society; CST 207 Relational Communication; CST 210 Communicating Ethically; and CST 300 Communication Theory. Students are required to takeĀ 21 additional semester hours of CST electives at the 300 level or above, 6 hours of which must be at the 400 and/or 500 level.
Student Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the major, the student should be able to:
- Speak effectively and ethically to a public.
- Utilize communication concepts and competencies to build relationships and/or community.
- Apply a communication perspective to identify and analyze social issues/problems.
- Engage communication scholarship using appropriate theory and research methods.
