Listening to Parents' Voices: The TRAIN team just released it's final report regarding focus groups conducted with parents of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  We hope that by sharing these important parent voices, we will be able to make a real difference as we attempt to increase community participation, access, and inclusion by those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, in Greensboro and surrounding communities.

Careers in Recreation and Parks Management

The study of the recreation and park industries encompasses a broad range of events and activities related to camping, natural resources, outdoor activities, arts, amusement parks, therapy, sporting events, and community recreation programs. A few of the many specialties within this growing field are gerontology, youth organizations, parks and forestry, public recreation, specialized facility management, commercial enterprising, therapeutic recreation, community inclusion, sports management, resource management, and recreation and parks administration. UNCG offers a B.S. in Recreation and Parks Management, with three concentrations in: Leisure Services Management, Therapeutic Recreation, and Commercial Recreation. Also, a Master of Science degree (M.S.) in Parks and Recreation Management is offered in Leisure Services Management, Therapeutic Recreation, Commercial Recreation, and Tourism.
