Improving Teacher Quality Grant funds.
A project designed to improve reading comprehension and
student achievement in science and mathematics at the middle and high school
levels by providing a results-oriented, standards-based, on-going professional
development program through a partnership including School of Education
faculty, local education agency master teachers, and College of Arts &
Sciences faculty.

Culturally relevant pedagogy as an instrument to narrow the achievement
gap. $49, 989 funded by the UNCG
External Proposal Development Incentive Program. An interdisciplinary project to develop and validate an
instrument that measures culturally relevant pedagogy (CRP) involving faculty
from curriculum and instruction, educational research and measurement, sociology,
and educational leadership. Linda Wightman (Educational Research &

Foundation. A project to introduce freshmen and sophomores to the teaching profession by
