NCPublic Schools Program Approval
Training. Conducted by Kathy Sullivan, Parmalee Hawk, and Alexander Erwin in
Raleigh, NC. The purpose of the
training was to prepare persons to serve as members of State Visitation teams
that will review the Specialty Area programs at public and private institutions
of higher education (August 5-7, 2002). *Note: Persons were trained using the
new Department of Public Instruction program approval standards (core,
diversity, technology, and program approval).

Training conducted for teacher education faculties at University of North
Carolina at Greensboro, North Carolina A&T State University, and
Fayetteville State University. Held on the campus of North Carolina A&T
State University (November 8, 2000).
Invited participant in the Samford
Summer Institute for Teacher Education. Held on the campus of Samford
University, Birmingham, Alabama. Sponsored by the Southeast Regional Vision Consortium
(SERVE). [A team – one university faculty, one school principal, and two
school faculty members - were selected as one of three teams representing North
Carolina among the six southeastern states in the United States. Jackson Middle School of the Guilford
County Public Schools was the middle school invited to attend (June 16-19,
2000).
