Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in English as a Second Language (PBC-ESL)
Designed for:
This program is designed for adult students with a
Bachelor’s degree in any field and documented evidence of having studied a
foreign language.
*Licensed teachers should apply to the ESL add-on program
rather than to this Certificate program.
Program Description:
This certificate program is designed to develop the
knowledge, skills, and dispositions to help language-minority children and
adults understand, speak, read, and write English, thus preparing them to
function better in American society.
Application Process:
- Applicants can obtain an application from the Graduate School
- Two official transcripts are required from every college and university that you attended.
- Three recommendations (forms
available at http://www.uncg.edu/grs/prospective/forms.html)
are also required, and should be submitted in sealed envelopes.
- A Residency Statement is
required for applicants claiming
North Carolina
residency.
- Applicants are required to
submit a personal statement and a copy of an updated resume.
- All
application materials should be sent to
