Princess Howell has recently opened her own dance company, Royal Expressions Contemporary Ballet. According to the company's press release,
"Royal Expressions Contemporary Ballet is a new dance company in Greensboro, NC, currently in the process of completing its 501(c)(3) application to become a nonprofit organization. Classes are held every Monday and Tuesday at 930-A S Chapman St next to Music Barn in the CFBG Building. The organization will offer three major programs: 1. Professional Dance Productions. The Royal Expressions Contemporary Ballet is a new, professional dance company in Greensboro, NC, and will be comprised of five dancers under the artistic direction of Princess Howell. The company has a unique style that uses the precision of ballet and the expression of contemporary and jazz dance styles. If you are interested in becoming a part-time professional dancer please email the Artistic Director, Princess Howell at princess@royalexpressions.org to schedule an audition.
Royal Expressions School of Dance focuses on developing professional level dance technique and an appreciation for dance. The curriculum focuses heavily on Ballet, Contemporary/Modern, and Jazz for ages five to adults. Technique classes will focus on developing professional level technique and promote professional dance as a career option. Enrollment for technique classes starts on June 30 until September 1st. There will be Open House Receptions on June 30 and July 28 at 6:30 p.m. Those who attend will be entered into a drawing to receive half off the first year of classes. Adult classes will focus on developing an appreciation and love of dance because of the positive physical, mental, and emotional impact it can have on an individual.
The Education and Outreach Programs focus on teaching dance to underprivileged youth, physically and mentally challenged individuals, and elderly citizens. Youth who may not otherwise have an opportunity to take a dance class will be given a chance to learn dance techniques and perform it for their family and friends. We will go into businesses for physically and mentally challenged individuals and elderly citizens and teach them practical dance techniques that may be helpful for their conditions. We want to touch people’s lives with the gift of dance, hoping to create a love of dance in these individuals. Please contact Princess Howell by email, princess@royalexpressions.org or phone, 336-404-2999, to see if you qualify for an outreach program at your location or for questions about the other services we offer."
