After 13 years of teaching at the university level, including continued professional work as a performer, choreographer and director, Stephen has entered a new phase of his career.
As of June 1, 2007, he have taken the position of Manager of the Performing Arts Center at Illinois Central College in Peoria, Illinois. He oversees the operations, production design, and all events of the college's performing venues, including such endeavors as performance season planning and calendar of events; promotion, media, & public relations; chairing the Subscription Series selection committee; managing the guest artist process from contract negotiations through event completion and reconciliation; technical support for teaching and performance activities; maintenance, security, and safety; and theater costs and budget management, personnel scheduling and supervision.
In Peoria, Stephen hopes to integrate into the arts community on both the administration / production plane, as well as the performance side of it all. There is a strong and discerning artistic community in Peoria, which is in character with the historic vaudeville euphemismm "If it will play in Peoria, it will play anywhere."
Please feel free to contact Stephen at stephen.stone@icc.edu.
