Technique Placement Class

Our next placement class for students interested in taking technique classes and who are not placed at a level will be on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 5pm in studio 322. Registration is not required.

 

Undergraduate Dance Audition:

Our next audition for prospective dance majors will be on April 3, 2010. Registration for the audition is required and interested students should submit a completed Audition Request Form to the Department. The registration deadline for the April 3, 2010 audition is Friday, March 26, 2010.

Patricia Ward, MA

Ms. Ward is founder and director of Moving Voices, The Isadora Duncan Cultural Exchange, specializing in Isadora Duncan Dance and The Movement Arts. She is a post-graduate Isadora Duncan Movement Analyst, affiliated with the Isadora Duncan International Institute. Ms. Ward is among the Artist Faculty with Young Audiences of Virginia and an Artist-in-Education Resident with The Virginia Commission for the Arts. Ms. Ward is adjunct faculty through the VCCS, teaching modern dance, dance history, humanities, and Pilates/Yoga, and holds K-12 teaching credentials in Virginia and North Carolina. In addition to a Post-Baccalaureate degree in dance from Randolph-Macon Woman's College, she holds a Master of Arts degree in Dance/Related Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. As soloist and ensemble performer with her Children's Cultural Exchange and Adult Repertoire Ensemble, Ms. Ward presents Duncan reconstructions as well as contemporary pieces reflecting the Duncan idiom. She serves on the Leadership for the Arts Council through Virginia Tech, is a member of NRDE, NDEO, CORD, The Sacred Dance Guild, CREDO, and SAH.
