I am currently head of the dance department at Lusher where I teach
theatre, as well. It feels great and also completely frustrating to be
part of the rebuilding process of New Orleans. In the past few months I
performed a few times in NY, once with a collaboration of New Orleans
Modern Dancers and Indian Classical Dancers (it was a joint
Katrina/Tsunami memorial performance, blocks away from Ground Zero). In
October, one of the companies I dance with locally was invited to
perform at a festival in NY.
The performance company I belong to will celebrate its 10th anniversary
with an International Theatre Festival - we will perform and be joined
by other US companies, as well as companies from Denmark, Serbia,
Wales, and Canada.
In December, my fiancee and I will be married in Puerto Rico and have our reception on the Epiphany in New Orleans.

After 13 years of teaching at the university level, including continued professional work as a performer, choreographer and director, Stephen has entered a new phase of his career.
As of June 1, 2007, he have taken the position of Manager of the Performing Arts Center at Illinois Central College in Peoria, Illinois. He oversees the operations, production design, and all events of the college's performing venues, including such endeavors as performance season planning and calendar of events; promotion, media, & public relations; chairing the Subscription Series selection committee; managing the guest artist process from contract negotiations through event completion and reconciliation; technical support for teaching and performance activities; maintenance, security, and safety; and theater costs and budget management, personnel scheduling and supervision.
In Peoria, Stephen hopes to integrate into the arts community on both the administration / production plane, as well as the performance side of it all. There is a strong and discerning artistic community in Peoria, which is in character with the historic vaudeville euphemismm "If it will play in Peoria, it will play anywhere."
Please feel free to contact Stephen at stephen.stone@icc.edu.
