Illegal Drugs and Alcohol

The University has very strict and clear policies regarding the use of illegal drugs; disciplinary proceedings are described in detail in the UNCG Faculty Handbook. Penalties include suspension from employment for a first offense of illegal possession. The University is required to provide all faculty and students with information about drug counseling and rehabilitation; persons who voluntarily use University services or programs are guaranteed confidentiality.

There are only five places on campus, including HHP, where alcoholic beverages may be served, and there are detailed and strict conditions which must be observed. For further information, contact the Dean’s Office. Even at social occasions off campus, faculty and TAs should be mindful of the safety of each other as well as students when it comes to driving under the influence.
