Graduate students enrolled in DCE 624 attend two undergraduate technique classes meeting twice a week, or the equivalent, to earn one graduate credit. While these students do not appear on the official undergraduate class lists they are included as part of the total enrollment capacity for a class, and each instructor needs to include them on his/her class roll. The Graduate Director will determine which technique courses graduate students are taking under the auspices of DCE 624 and distribute this information to faculty. As is the case with undergraduate students, graduate students enrolled in one technique course are not free to “drop in” to others, and it is the responsibility of technique teachers to know which graduate students are actually enrolled in their classes and which are not, and to permit access only to those who are. Graduate students are expected to abide by all policies governing student behavior in class and to set a strong example of professionalism. Technique teachers are expected to evaluate graduate students’ progress and achievement in class in the same way as they evaluate undergraduate students. The Graduate Director will ask technique instructors for grades for graduate students (S/U) at the end of the semester. As with all students, graduate students must attend at least 80% of the classes to receive credit.
