Guest Teachers
(See also section on class cancellations and substitutes.) As funding permits, the Department strives to arrange master classes and residencies of various kinds for visiting artists and teachers. The purpose of this initiative is to bring students into contact with individuals with dance and related arts backgrounds and experiences that differ from those of permanent faculty members, and especially those who possess expertise in particular areas that are important to a particular course, rather than simply to provide coverage for an instructor who may be away. Contact the Department Head early in the year if you wish to have a guest instructor in a class you are teaching. Do not make any commitment to pay a guest teacher before getting approval of the Head.
