Priorities for scheduling rehearsal space are established by the faculty and differ from semester to semester in accordance with the production season and the nature/degree of required work by students. Current semester priorities are posted on the bulletin board in the hallway outside the theatre along with studio sign up sheets. All classes are kept on the schedule during the semester. Any additional requests for studio or theater space (for classes or rehearsals) must be requested by using the forms on the bulletin board that holds the schedule. Anyone making schedule requests should check this board frequently for announcements or changes. Bear in mind that your rehearsal may get "bumped" due to an event with a higher priority. If you wish to reserve a space after the schedule has been posted, you may write in your name wherever there is a vacancy. If you have a space reserved and will not be using it--even for one day--notify the Technical Director or mark through your name on the posted schedule; others may be desperate for the space that you won't be using.
The only people who can be in the building after closing/before opening
hours are staff (including TAs) who have a key to the building, and people
under their direct supervision. MFAs who are not TAs may also have a key
once they have passed portfolio review and had their culminating project
approved. Under no circumstances is it permissible for key holders to
permit dancers to stay behind to work on their own. During the school
year, building hours are normally M-R 6:30am-10:00 pm, F 6:30am-9:00pm,
Sat 8:30 am-5:00 pm, Sun 12:30-5:00 pm.
