Teaching is the primary mission of UNCG, and the University expects a strong effort from all faculty members and teaching assistants to provide good teaching (or better). “Student centered” is a term used by the University to describe itself and the Department uses the same term in its mission. See Appendix 2 for Criteria for evaluating TAs and http://www.uncg.edu/tlc/seven.html for the "Seven Principles for Good Practice in Undergraduate Education.” The Seven Principles are used as one basis for assessment of the University by the State and they are also included in the Department form for course evaluation by students. The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) at UNCG offers many resources for supporting good teaching; check them out at www.uncg.edu/tlc.
