I.  Schedule for Graduate Applicants in Dance (except for MA Dance Education)

DECEMBER 1, 2009:
MFA applications, all MA applications except for dance education, and all TA applications are due December 1.  Dance education students who want to take the on campus program and desire a TA should apply by December 1.

The following are due to THE GRADUATE SCHOOL :

  • A completed Graduate School application form
  • Two copies of the official transcript from all former undergraduate and graduate degree programs
  • GRE scores for general test
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Non-refundable $45.00 application fee
  • Send all of these materials to:

The following are due to THE DANCE DEPARTMENT:
  • A completed Dance Department Information Form (A)
  • Responses to the questions on the Information Form (A)
  • A vita/resume which documents your dance training and experience not reflected by official transcripts
  • A videotape or portfolio (please refer to admission guidelines).
  • All candidates for Teaching Assistantships must submit Dance Department Information Form (B). THIS DEADLINE APPLIES TO BOTH NEW AND CURRENT STUDENTS.

JANUARY, 2010:
Responses go out to applicants selected from the first screening, inviting them to audition and interview with the Graduate Faculty.

FEBRUARY, 2010
Graduate Auditions: applicants take and watch ongoing classes, take an audition class in contemporary dance, interview with faculty, and, for those selected as TA candidates, teach. Applicants might plan to attend a MFA project concert on Friday night.

MARCH, 2010:
Acceptance letters go out through email and in the US mail. TA candidates will be notified by phone or through email.

Late applications may continue to be considered at faculty discretion.

II. Schedule for Applicants for MA Dance Education

APRIL 1, 2010:  The MA program in Dance Education admits students ONLY at the beginning of face-to-face summer courses. Applications for the MA program in Dance Education are due by April 1, 2010 for the next program beginning Summer, 2010. No students will be admitted in 2009.

The following are due to THE GRADUATE SCHOOL:

    * A completed Graduate School application form
    * Two copies of the official transcript from all former undergraduate and graduate degree programs
    * GRE scores for general test (Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing)
    * Non-refundable $45.00 application fee
    * Send all of these materials to:
      The Graduate School

      Greensboro, NC 27412
