Comp Ticket Policy- MA Grad Handbook
Revised UNCG Dance Department Comp Ticket Policy, June 2003
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DEPARTMENT DOES NOT DISTRIBUTE OR MAKE DECISIONS
ABOUT COMPS FOR THE NORTH CAROLINA DANCE FESTIVAL OR CONCERTS PRESENTED
BY A SINGLE FACULTY MEMBER OR DANCE COMPANY. THERE ARE DIFFERENT FINANCIAL
ARRANGEMENTS FOR SUCH CONCERTS. THE ARTISITIC DIRECTOR FOR THESE EVENTS
WILL DISTRIBUTE COMP CARDS AS THEY SEE FIT. OTHER THAN CONCERTS MENTIONED
ABOVE, COMPS ARE MADE AVAILABLE AS FOLLOWS:
CHOREOGRAPHERS:
You will receive ONE comp card PER PERFORMANCE of your work, but you may use all cards for tickets on the same night. Faculty choreographers will receive their comp cards in their mailboxes one week prior to the concert, and student and guest choreographers can pick up their comp cards from Caitlin Medlock beginning one week prior to each concert. As a choreographer, you are responsible for the distribution of comp cards to the performers in your piece(s). These comps will be given to you by Caitlin the week prior to the performance date.
PERFORMERS, COMPOSERS, DESIGNERS, etc:
You are entitled to ONE comp card PER CONCERT RUN. Choreographers will receive the comp cards for all of their performers, (and composers, designers, etc. if requested), and will be responsible for distributing them beginning one week prior to each concert.
FULL-TIME DANCE FACULTY AND FULL/PART-TIME STAFF:
Your name is now on a list of dance faculty and staff in the University
Box Office. (See attached) You will need to present a picture ID to
a box office representative so that he/she can verify your name on this
list, and then you will be given tickets directly. You are entitled
to TWO complimentary tickets per dance concert presented by the department.
If you are also a choreographer or dancer for a particular concert,
you will receive comp cards as designated above. Please call 334-4TIX
for Box Office Hours of Operation and locations.
PLEASE NOTE: If a concert is likely to sell out, you should plan on
picking up your tickets from the box office the week prior to the performance
date.
PART-TIME DANCE FACULTY AND TEACHING ASSISTANTS:
Your name is now on a list of T.A.s and part-time dance faculty in the
University Box Office. You will need to present a picture ID to a box
office representative so that he/she can verify your name on this list,
and then you will be given tickets directly. You are entitled to ONE
complimentary ticket per dance concert presented by the department.
If you are also a choreographer or dancer for a particular concert,
you will receive comp cards as designated above. Please call 334-4TIX
for Box Office Hours of Operation and locations.

ACCOMPANISTS:
Your name is now on a list of accompanists in the University Box Office.
You will need to present a picture ID to a box office representative
so that he/she can verify your name on this list, and then you will
be given tickets directly. You are entitled to TWO complimentary ticket
per dance concert presented by the department. If you are also a composer
for a particular concert, you will receive comp cards as designated
above.

USHERS:
Comp cards available by request (maximum of one/concert). Make your request to Caitlin Medlock, and pick up your card from her office beginning one week prior to each concert.
PROCEDURE FOR EXCHANGING COMP CARDS FOR TICKETS:
You may take your comp card(s) to the UNCG Box Office during box office hours
and exchange it for a ticket

You may call 334-4849 and make reservations to exchange your comp card for a ticket at the Dance Box Office the night of the show you want to attend.
