Bulletin Boards: READ THE BULLETIN BOARDS!! There are bulletin boards in the hallway outside the theater. The large board is for University and Departmental posting. If you have something for these bulletin boards, give it to the staff member in 321A for posting. Unauthorized or improperly posted materials may be removed and thrown out. The small one near the modern studio may be used for personal messages.
Electronic Communication: The Department has a Blackboard organization of Dance majors and minors through which students, faculty, and staff can send important messages to your UNCG email account. Please look carefully at the list of groups included in the organization, so you don’t send a message to “all” unless it is really relevant for all. (If people get too many messages from the organization, they will not bother to read them.) Be aware that you just need to click on “submit” ONCE—it may look like the message is not sending, but if you keep clicking on “submit,” recipients will get a repeat copy of the message every time you do so.
Mailboxes: Every dance major who completes a "green sheet" at the beginning of the year will have a departmental mailbox located in the Walker Avenue lobby. CHECK YOUR MAILBOX regularly, and use mailboxes to communicate with other dance majors.
Community Meetings: Department Community Meetings are held once or twice each semester, usually on Fridays. These are important times to find out what is going on, to meet other dance majors not in your classes, and to find ways to get involved. Sometimes informal showings or master classes may take the place of the meeting. Other times there will be refreshments and social events.
