An endowed chair is the most prestigious faculty position at the University. The endowment supporting it would allow us to recruit the top scholars in any discipline. The endowment level includes $334,000 in matching funds through the State's Distinguished Professors Endowment Trust Fund. If matching funds are not available through the state the minimum endowment level will be $2,200,000.
Excellence Professorship endowments allow us to reward our most outstanding faculty, and give the University a critical resource to retain our top professors when they are being recruited by other institutions. The endowment level includes $167,000 in matching funds through the State’s Distinguished Professors Endowment Trust Fund. If matching funds are not available through the state the minimum level will be $350,000.
Income from these endowments can be used to address an unlimited array of needs and opportunities, from teaching excellence awards to funds for travel to professional conferences.
