Vice Chancellor's Message

Vice Chancellor,
University Advancement
Dear friends,
As Vice Chancellor for University Advancement since 1999, I am proud to work for a division whose charge is significant and rewarding. While it is our mission to help move this great university forward, to advance its ability to inspire and make an impact for the students and communities we serve, it's what occurs in the pursuit of these goals that matters most.
We are fundraisers, communications professionals, data analysts, event planners, researchers, strategists and liaisons. In the process of simply "doing our jobs," we have the opportunity to help others achieve their vision. And we do so by making connections — between donors and the students and faculty they support, between alumni and the university that represents a proud history and a promising future, and between the UNCG community and our friends beyond campus, near and far.
The beauty of our positions comes also in the moments we get to spend with those who care about UNCG and in the stories they share with us. You can read many of these stories about the great people making great things happen at inspirechange.uncg.edu.
It is the privilege of University Advancement staff to know that our work helps faculty grow their teaching and research, connects alumni and community members to their vision for making an impact, and — above all — supports students in their desire to earn a well-respected degree and enter the world prepared to inspire new possibilities.
In a time when private donations and meaningful connections can make all the difference in a public university's ability to thrive, we feel honored more now than ever to play a critical role in the future of UNCG.
