Overview

British Authors: Romantic to Modern introduces the great writings of British literature set against the backdrop of major historical events and shifting cultural concerns.

Online Course

All course information, materials, communication tools, and links to required readings are available online at bb.uncg.edu. You have the option to purchase the Norton Anthology of English Literature, Vol.2 or to access all readings for free online. Should you choose the second option, please make a hard copy of each reading and bring your copy with you to class. Students are expected to keep up with the reading schedule and come to class prepared for discussion.

Grading Information

First One-Hour Exam: 25% of course grade

Second One-Hour Exam: 25% of course grade

Final Exam: 40% of course grade

Attendance/Class Participation: 10% of course grade

Make-up exams will be given only in cases of illness, verified with a note from your physician or from student health services.
