Grading: Your grade is based solely on the number of points you accumulate on the 29 quizzes, mostly unannounced, that I will give in the course of the semester. Each quiz will consist of four questions. These quizzes are short answer. Students who are caught cheating will receive a grade of F for the course, and in addition I will prosecute cheaters through the deans office. The grading scale is as follows:
90-116 .A
89 .A-
88 .B+
80-87 B
79 .B-
78 .C+
70-77 C
69 .C-
68 .D+
60-67 D
59 .D-
0-58 ..F
Please note that I do not give make-up quizzes for any reason. You can miss four quizzes and still accumulate 100 points.
The course format is questions and, I hope, answers. Please come prepared to talk about the reading of the day. I invite you to bring questions.
