Becoming a Professional:

As a new member of the teaching profession, you will want to join your professional organizations: the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the North Carolina chapter of that organization.  These associations will keep you informed about professional meetings and workshops and will help you stay actively involved in developments in the field of English Studies.  NCTE has student membership rates.  Information about joining both of these organizations is available from the Director of English Education.
