Requirements and Guidelines for Application for Graduate study

Graduate School Requirements (see Graduate School website)
1. Application to graduate school. To graduate school directly. For more information, please visit the Graduate School at http://www.uncg.edu/grs/prospective/index.html .

2. All official transcripts sent to graduate school. To graduate school directly

3. GRE scores. Notify the service to send to UNCG. We look primarily at the verbal and the quantitative scores, and expect each of these to be a minimum of 500 (combined 1000). Send to graduate school directly

4. Three letters of recommendation. At least two of these should be from faculty members who can address your academic capability. You may have more than three. Send to graduate school directly

5. Please note that if any of the required items (1-4) are not submitted to the Graduate School they will not process your application.

6. ESS Supplementary Application(required) (word or pdf) - indicating interest area, what you would like to study and what direction you would like to take. Your application will be reviewed by faculty in your interest area. If you are unsure as to your direction, you may indicate more than one area, or a combination of areas. We advise you to contact the faculty member or members that are in your interest area. Return directly to ESS department.

7. Graduate Assistantship Application (word or pdf) - To be considered for an assistantship these forms are to be returned directly to the ESS department.

8. Please have all your application materials submitted by January 15, to receive full consideration for admission or an assistantship.

9. Most applications are reviewed in the spring for fall admission. Spring admission is possible, but unlikely, and we have no assistantship funds for spring applicants.

10. Note: Prospective students interested in the Entry-level Master’s Athletic Training concentration area should followed the admission guidelines posted at http://www.uncg.edu/ess/atep. The deadline for applications to this program is also January 15.
