Community Outreach Activities

The faculty in Exercise Physiology is committed to integrating community service into many aspects of research and teaching. Several faculty have ongoing community programs. Nancy Stoudemire directs the HOPE program, which is open to adults over the age of 50. The program employs graduate students and also provides practicum experience for undergraduate students. More information about the HOPE program can be found by visiting the links below.

The fibromyalgia program combines service activities with research and also provides a hands-on learning experience for graduate students. More information about the fibromyalgia program can be found by visiting the links below.

Dr. Laurie Wideman is a member of the Heart & Stroke Health Partnership and the Obesity Coalition. Both of these organizations focus on promoting physical activity and healthy eating as a way to decrease obesity and its related co-morbidities in Guilford County.
