The Nutrition Graduate Student Association was formed by the Master’s and Ph.D. students in the department. NGSA was organized for several purposes:
- to provide a vehicle for FNS graduate students to develop professionally
- to participate and assist on community projects
- to achieve collaborative research projects with other UNCG departments and affiliates.
Graduate students in other departments such as exercise and sport science or biology who are working on nutrition related research are also welcome as members.
NGSA meetings are usually held in the department over the lunch hour. The meetings enable the members to “take a deep breath”, share some ideas and thoughts on projects, and generally, keep the lines of communication open and have some fun. In 1996, NGSA received the Outstanding Community Project Award from the university.
NGSA hopes you will inquire about the organization
if your nutrition studies bring you to UNCG!
