Campus Police Building
This project will provide a new Police Building, of approximately 27,000 gross square feet, allowing the Police Department and Risk Management Office to move into a single facility. The Police Department area will be designed to include administrative offices; suspect processing area and interview rooms; classroom and physical training space, with shower and locker room facilities; and an Emergency Coordination/Communications Center for use during campus-wide critical incident response and adverse weather conditions. This project will be built in UNCG’s planned Mixed-Use Village located north of Lee Street. Construction is expected to begin Summer 2012 and to be completed Fall 2013.

Mixed-use Village Housing - Phase 1
This project will include the construction of four new, suite-style residence halls, containing approximately 800 beds, in addition to the associated site work. The project design will consist of three and four story buildings comprised of brick, fiber cement siding and metal shingle skin. The proposed site is located at the intersection of Union and Highland Streets in UNCG’s planned Mixed-Use Village. Site work is expected to start Fall 2011. Planned occupancy is scheduled for July 2013.
New Student Recreation Facility
This project will include the design and construction of a new Student Recreation Center to replace the existing one. The facility will consist of approximately 225,000 gross square feet of space in three primary zones: activity, administrative and support areas. The activity zone will include a three-court gymnasium, a two-court gymnasium, an elevated jogging track, weight training rooms, multipurpose rooms, a 25 meter competitive natatorium, a fitness pool, classrooms, offices and storage areas to support all activity spaces. The administrative zone will include the director’s office suite, program staff offices, graduate assistants and student employee work areas, conference room, storage and ancillary spaces. The support zone will include lounge areas, pro shop, men’s and women’s locker rooms, laundry, outdoor recreation storage and general building storage. (No outdoor recreation areas are anticipated at this time.) The project will be built in UNCG's planned Mixed-Use Village located south of Lee Street. Construction is expected to begin Summer 2013 and to be completed Fall 2015.

Railroad Pedestrian Underpass
This project will include the design and construction of a new Pedestrian Underpass located at the southern end of the campus near the intersection of Forest Street and Oakland Avenue. This new pedestrian structure will cross under Oakland Avenue and the North Carolina Railroad corridor to facilitate safer pedestrian and bicycle connections between the core of the main campus and the Mixed-Use Village south of Lee Street. Construction is expected to begin Fall 2012 and to be completed Fall 2013.

Reynolds and Grogan Residence Halls Renovations
This project will include the renovation of existing group-style bathrooms; new energy efficient elevators and ADA accessibility improvements throughout the buildings; new ADA exterior approaches; a new electrical service and new energy efficient lighting systems; a new four-pipe high efficiency HVAC system; and it may include the construction of classroom spaces. Reynolds Residence Hall will be renovated during 2013-2014 and Grogan Residence Hall will be renovated during 2014-2015.
