"The department offers free language tutorials to incoming students, multimedia laboratory support, individualized advising for all majors and minors, and independent study opportunities for motivated students of German and Russian. Our faculty strongly supports students who wish to engage in interdisciplinary ventures with other UNCG schools and departments, including Art, Business, History, International Studies, Music, Psychology, and Sociology." - Since 1996, graduates have launched careers such as Berlitz School administrators for Eastern Europe (in Prague), business correspondents for European firms, English teachers in the former Soviet Republics through the Peace Corps, webpage designers for multimedia corporations, and teachers.
Graduate School
- Over 90% of students who apply place into graduate degree programs.
- Approximately 80% of students earn full graduate scholarships for advanced studies.
- Students typically attend graduate programs at institutions such as the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Virginia, and Emory University.
