EssaysSubmitting Essays for Grading

There are two types of essays you will be writing:

  1. Five brief essays (1-2 pages each), one for each learning module, and
  2. A final essay (3-4 pages), selected for revision and expansion from the five original module essays.
To submit them for grading, you will need to:
1. Save the completed document as text. Typically, this involves selecting the File menu of your word processor, then Save As. One of the options will be for Text. Select this. Once saved, your file will have a .txt extension. Consult the Help feature/menu of your word processor for specific instructions.
File > Save As  > Text in Microsoft Office Word for Windows 95:
File > Save As > Text
2. Attach the files to e-mail addressed to your instructor. Typically, this involves composing a message to your instructor, then clicking the "Attach" button (usually denoted with paper clips).  You will see a "dialog box" (seen below) requesting you to locate the file (on your floppy or on your hard disk) and to select it for attachment. Consult the Help feature/menu of your e-mail utility for specific instructions.

Once your instructor has received your essays, she will grade them by inserting comments within your work, then e-mail them back to you.
