Alumni/careers in German Studies

About our graduates:

Graduates of the German program are working in a variety of fields and find diverse ways to apply their knowledge of the German language, literature, and culture. Our German grads are teaching overseas as Fulbright Scholars, working as in Munich, teaching high school German students across the country, serving as an Air Force Security Specialist, leading trips and working for Lufthansa - just to name a few!

They are also continuing their German studies at top universities or studying law, medicine, economics and business. Recent grads have paired a German major with another field of study including international business, English, music, communication and political science. This gives graduates – such as one who’s serving in Uganda with the Peace Corps or others working for Target International , American Express and a German software company again use our own examples – the tools they need to make their dreams a reality.

To our graduates:

Dear German Department Alums,

Please let us know how you are and what you are up to. If you have a minute to spare, drop a line, and an up-to-date photo if you have one, to our administrative assistant, Marsha Leonhart. With your permission, she will add your message to other alumni submissions on this site.

Our warmest greetings to all of you,
The German Department faculty.
