Study abroad

The Department contributes to an active study abroad program administered by the International Programs Center (IPC) and encourages all students to consider studying abroad. Students who wish to spend one or two semesters in Baden-Württemberg, Germany or Austria study a wide range of subjects at pre-selected universities and experience a full-immersion situation in the German language and culture. The Department maintains close ties with IPC and is happy to assist students during the application process. Once accepted into the study abroad program, students are encouraged to stay in touch with their advisors and German professors in order to discuss course choices and selections and the transfer of credits. For German majors and minors, the Department offers a scholarship to be used for travel and other expenses related to study abroad. For more information about eligibility, the application process, and deadlines please click here. The Department also occasionally offers shorter study-trips. For more information, please inquire with the Department.
