Standardized Test Requirements

Official score results from authorized examinations are required by the program to which you are applying. GRE and GMAT scores are valid for five years from the time originally taken. TOEFL and IELTs scores are valid for two years from the time originally taken.

The GREŽ revised General Test is Coming in August 2011

The GRE General Test will be revised later this year and pre-registration for the test begins in March 2011. If you intend to apply for Spring 2012 or a program whose Fall deadline is December 1, 2011 it is your responsibility to be aware of the calendar information posted by ETS at: www.ets.org/grs/revised_general/know to ensure scores arrive before application deadlines.

English Proficiency

Non-native speakers of English with international transcripts, regardless of U.S. citizenship, must validate proficiency in the English language. Applicants may submit a satisfactory score on a language proficiency test. If the TOEFL is the chosen test, the minimum required score depends on the form of the exam taken (internet based - 79, or paper based - 550). A score of at least 6.5 is required on the IELTS. The language requirement also may be fulfilled by completion of INTERLINK, the intensive English language program located on UNCG's campus (www.uncg.edu/ipg/interlink/) through Level 5. The English language proficiency requirement may be waived if the applicant is a graduate of a university in a country where English is the official language.

Information Relating to Standardized Testing

Thinking about graduate, business, or law school, but worried about antonyms, analogies, and algebra? You're not alone; most prospective graduate students are. Taking the GRE, GMAT, LSAT or any standardized test can add a great deal of unwanted stress to the application process.

Important note! The GMAT has changed vendors, and consequently there have been changes to the test, the reporting, and the testing centers. Please check the web information offered by the Business Administration department.

The UNC Greensboro Testing Code is 5913. Use this code on the GRE, GMAT, Praxis, IELTS and TOEFL exam to have your scores sent directly to UNC Greensboro.

*NOTE* The Miller Analogies Test distributes their own recipient codes at the time of testing.
