Alumni and Friends

The School of Human Environmental Sciences began as one of the three original academic units on campus, dating back to 1892. However, there was no formal organization of the alumni of the School until 1964. Under the direction of then Dean Naomi Albanese, the School of Home Economics (now, Human Environmental Sciences) Alumni Association was born. The School is home to over 8,000 alumni.

Objectives of the HES Alumni Association

  • To keep alumni informed of program and curriculum development and current events;
  • To provide an opportunity for alumni to participate in ongoing programs;
  • To solicit monetary support for the School of Human Environmental Sciences;
  • To recruit students for the School of Human Environmental Sciences;
  • To provide a forum for professional development.

Membership in the HES Alumni Association

All alumni of the School of Human Environmental Sciences are eligible and become members upon payment of annual dues. All faculty members or other professionals who are not alumni but who pay dues are eligible for associate membership. Associate membership includes all benefits except voting.
