Dean's Ambassadors

Please note: some items require the Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader, which can be downloaded from the Adobe web site.

1) What is a Dean's Ambassador?
A Dean's Ambassador is a student who wishes to enhance one's leadership skills, academic success, is seeking involvement in service-learning activities and has a desire to help others while raising awareness of the principles and values of the School of Human Environmental Sciences.

2) What does a Dean's Ambassador do?
A Dean's Ambassador serves to support and represent the student population in HES at various events throughout the year (Fallfest, sponsored workshops, the scholar/donor luncheon, the honors convocation, graduation, etc.). Also, they participate in monthly workshops designed to raise awareness of opportunities and services in place to maximize one's academic success and involvement in the campus community.

3) What are the criteria for becoming a Dean's Ambassador?
Students must have a declared major within one of our five departments in the School of Human Environmental Sciences (Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies, Human Development and Family Studies, Interior Architecture, Nutrition and Social Work). Students must also have a minimum 3.0 cumulative UNCG GPA.

4) How do I become a Dean's Ambassador?
Submit a completed HES Dean's Ambassador application to 235 Stone on or before the deadline (4pm on Friday, September 19, 2008) for consideration. Approximately 20 students will be selected to serve as a Dean's Ambassador and will be notified via email in early October.

5) How long can I serve as a Dean's Ambassador?
If selected, students will serve for one full academic year with the option to renew at the end of that term.

6) What if I have other questions?
E-mail Jennifer Clark or call her at 336-334-5736.
