Thank you for taking the first step toward supporting the programs in Human Environmental Sciences by visiting this link. Each year, gifts received provide support to students and faculty through scholarships, fellowships, professorships, and program enhancements. The 1946 vision that led to the establishment of the Human Environmental Sciences Foundation continues today, and our School is proud to have the only school-based foundation at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. With this endowment, we are able to ensure that the legacy of HES continues.
The School of Human Environmental Sciences has long been recognized for our quality and breadth of programs. Our nationally-recognized faculty attracts students who seek the skills and knowledge to address human and social needs. To prepare them for this vital role and enrich the student experience, we offer intriguing classes, "real world" internships, research assistantships and travel abroad experiences. As we look to the future, we must not only maintain but elevate the opportunities we provide, equipping students to create innovative solutions to issues that affect us all.
The imperatives of UNCG's Students First Campaign are critical for meeting these goals, which ultimately serve our greatest strength - our people. Embodying "The Impact of One / The Power of Many," the contributions of our students, faculty, and friends will help us build on the excellence of our programs and guarantee that our graduates take their places in the community as outstanding researchers, teachers, scientists, and providers of human services.
Our goal in Human Environmental Sciences is to ensure that no qualified student is unable to attend because of financial constraints. Support for scholarships and fellowships for our students will relieve their minds of the burden of "making ends meet," and instead allow them the freedom to focus on their studies and research. In addition, support for professorships gives Human Environmental Sciences the edge in recruiting top researchers and professors which leads to our being the school of first choice for students.

A unique aspect to our Child Care Education Program (CCEP) is the opportunity for our students to have hands-on experience in one of our five-star-rated child care centers. Students learn how to provide quality child care in their Birth-Kindergarten degree classes, and then are allowed to see those practices in action in an actual center. Support for programs such as CCEP ensures that our students will be sought after upon graduation by potential employers.
Built as the Home Economics Building, our 1929 wing of the Mary Frances Stone Building underwent a major renovation in 2005. Support for technological advances such as a Distance Learning Classroom and an Experiential Laboratory for Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies (CARS) will ensure that our students stay on the cutting edge of today's industries.
The newly completed Studio Arts Center houses our Interior Architecture Department (IAR). Support for the Interior Architecture Resource Center and the Center for Design Innovation will provide students access to journals, materials, and creative support for their fresh ideas in interior architecture.

Established as a Chancellor's initiative, the Center for New North Carolinians (CNNC) provides outreach and services to the immigrant and refugee populations in North Carolina. In addition, the center offers opportunities for cultural exchanges as students work in programs sponsored by the center. Currently, the CNNC is fully self-supporting through private grants and gifts. Support of the center will provide an endowment to ensure that its important work will continue for years to come.
