SWK Receives National Approval for New Program

The Council on Social Work Education has granted approval to the Joint Master of Social Work Program to implement an advanced standing MSW program. This program will be available on a competitive basis to persons who have earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from a CSWE accredited institution. The program will enable admitted students to complete their MSW degree in one calendar year.

In approving the program, the Council on Social Education wrote, "Your thorough analysis of the impact of the proposed program on the compliance with each accreditation standard provides the information needed for approval." Admissions to this program option will begin in 2007-08 and the program itself will begin in the summer of 2008.

Information is available by contacting Dr. Jacalyn Claes, JMSW Program Co-Director at 336-334-4106.
