The School of Human Environmental Sciences provides support to faculty who are pursuing a wide range of scholarship and research. Our goal is to assist faculty as they develop and experiment with new ideas, learn new methodologies and technologies, collect and analyze information to answer important questions in their field, and engage in creative activities.

The HES Office of Research works directly with faculty in the development of proposals for internal and external funding and in the management of grant and contract funds. A balance between basic and applied research and creative scholarship is encouraged. We also help faculty find sources of funding for their research and scholarship. In addition, the Office of Research maintains and supports research laboratories, design studios, and other facilities used by faculty and graduate students for their research and creative activities.
