The School of Human Environmental Sciences (HES) at the University of North
Carolina at Greensboro operates an experimental research station as part of
the North Carolina Agricultural
Research Service (NCARS) through North Carolina State University, College
of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Faculty research projects are USDA approved and range from basic research involving
laboratory experiments with humans and animals, to applied research that focuses
on improving the quality of life for individuals and families. The NCARS faculty
conduct important human sciences research and training in the field of nutrition
intervention and health; family diversity, strengths, and stability; health,
safety, and the environment; and workforce issues in the textile industry.
