This is a great conference if you are interested in learning about new technologies and their pedagogical applications. It is also a great place to present. The conference is conveniently located at the North Raleigh Hilton and the state pays for a hotel room at the double occupancy rate. The registration fee last year was $125. and most meals are included. The Teaching and Learning Center has paid the registration fee for some faculty in the past. The 2007 conference will take place Wednesday-Friday, March 21-23. It generally begins late morning on Wednesday and ends Friday noon.
Mid-South Instructional Technology Conference
http://www.mtsu.edu/~itconf/
" For eleven years, the Instructional Technology Conference has provided thousands of higher educational professionals from across the country a place to share experiences and expertise in educational technology. The conference features nationally recognized speakers, high-quality presentations, and hands-on workshops as well as a convenient location, affordable cost, and friendly conference staff."
This is a conference that Ray Purdom, Director of the UNCG Teaching and Learning Center, attends regularly. He feels that it is a fine, compact conference. In the past, it has been a bit more oriented to technology than pedagogy. The conference takes place at Middle Tennessee State in Murfreesboro, TN. The 2007 conference will be Sunday to Tuesday, April 1st-3rd. Again, this would be a good conference at which to present.
