Welcome to the Speech and Hearing Program at Gateway University Research Park. Located just outside Greensboro in beautiful
Browns Summit, NC, we offer an array of services to suit any particular communication need.
We are a clinical service facility for the community, as well as a teaching and research program affiliated with The School of Health & Human Sciences at The University of North Carolina
at Greensboro.
Our North Carolina licensed and nationally certified clinicians offer individualized attention and support for adults and
families in need of speech and language services.
The Speech and Hearing Clinic is dedicated to providing quality services in speech-language pathology and rehabilitative
counseling to adult citizens of the Piedmont and surrounding areas.

Public Service Center:
To provide important community outreach services in the areas of prevention, wellness and rehabilitation to the Triad’s aging population. Additionally, we aim to improve access to rehabilitation services for underserved individuals within North Carolina.
Secondary components:
- Generate populations for research
- Create training opportunities for students
- Generate revenue to support the program
As the mission for our program includes targeting underserved populations throughout North Carolina, our plans for development include:
- Expanding our program's use of telerehabilitation. This innovative modality (providing rehabilitation services through secure videoconferencing) permits us to aid individuals with barriers to service such as a shortage of clinicians within rural communities or transportation/mobility issues.
- Engaging in additional research to demonstrate the efficacy of telerehabilitation and its potential for reduction in healthcare costs.
- Incorporating additional disciplines (physical therapy, occupational therapy, mental health, etc.) to provide comprehensive services to underserved populations.
